NAZARETH
When some of the Pharisees asked, "Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?" They were referring to Nazareth as his birthplace or to this very small, hillside town north of Bethlehem in Galilee. It was such a small town some question its existence, but that is well documented in archeological findings, biblical references, and on maps. Nazareth was not considered important by most because of its size. Bethlehem was similar. Both were meant to speak of Christ's lowly birth and humility.
BETHLEHEM
Jesus birthplace was Bethlehem, as prophesied (800 years before) in Micah 5:2. Other supporting details are given in Genesis 3:15, Genesis 12:3, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 40:1-11, Hosea 11:1. "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the
thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been
from of old, from everlasting." Bethlehem means "house of bread". Jesus said, “I am the bread of life,” Jesus told them. “Those who come to me will never be hungry; those who believe in me will never be thirsty." After teaching large crowds, he didn't send people away hungry. He first quenched their thirsty souls, then fed their bodies. Those who believed "in Christ" found life eternal. Jesus is the true and living bread come down from heaven.
