These aspects are called petitions or supplications in the Lord's Prayer. Adoration is found in "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name." Confession is touched on in "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." Thanksgiving is implied in the request, "give us this day, our daily bread." And Supplications refer to other needs such as knowing God's will and deliverance through temptations. Deliverance from evil comes as we face weaknesses that arise from living in this world, our flesh with its fallen nature, and the devil's influence over our minds through unholy thoughts. Using God's word and prayer helps us move out of darkness and into the light of truth and to a one faith worldview like God's. Prayers are encouraged for our families, our churches, our communities and neighbors, and even our enemies. Jesus invites us to be fruitful and to pray "harvest prayers."
