THE SCRIPTURES WERE WRITTEN
BY THE PROPHETS AND THE APOSTLES
AS GUIDED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
TRUTH COMES THROUGH
GOD'S SPIRIT
"So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it" (Isaiah 55:11).
Spirit Led Training
1. Truth Believed
2. Sin Confessed & Forgiven
3. Skillful & Mature Use of Scripture
4. Raised Up in Christ's Righteousness
This training comes to us day by day and on Sundays as we gather at our churches. It helps us during the week as we serve the Lord. The Holy Spirit produces the fruit of the Spirit as we prayerfully live our lives "in Christ". These develop over a life time. They are the fruit of God's grace in our lives, help us emotionally and spiritually, and in dealing with everyday life (Galatians 5:22,23). They are a visible part of our faith which can be seen by an unbelieving world. They have the effect of "salt" and "light" as we share His word of faith with others.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
SANCTIFIES US
MATURITY IN CHRIST
THROUGH THE SPIRIT
As we grow in our relationship with Christ, praying and memorizing scripture with others will help us mature. It will give life to our families, to our vocations, to our churches, and to wherever God leads us. Make room and time for Jesus. He will give you peace with God, his provision, and protection. This world may shake and unsettle you, but it does not have the power to take away the peace we find as we abide in Him. Phil. 4:6-8.
THE SPIRIT ENLIVENS
GOD'S WILL IN US
We are blessed when we do works of faith inspired by God's word. The Holy Spirit empowers us. His strength becomes ours as our yes is truly YES, and our no is truly NO. Rightly applying or using God's word keeps us from giving in to sinful lusts, heresy, self righteousness, and an empty life. He leads us into doing good, seeing our God overcome evil with good, and into the sweetness of answered prayers for ourselves and others. May we honor Him by being true to our convictions and covenants, to our promises, and to all that we attempt to do to glorify His name.
Do we reach perfection in this life? In a word, NO. Our lives are refined day by day as we yield to the Holy Spirit. Notice the words "conformed" vs "transformed". The world conforms us by default, but the Spirit transforms us as we present our bodies . Romans 12:1-2 speak of what that change looks like.
TRIUNE BENEDICTION
GRACE, LOVE, & FELLOWSHIP
GRACE, LOVE, & FELLOWSHIP
Be Led by the Spirit
"So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, " Philippians 2:1-5 ESV
